AQUA Environmental Leak Detection says it recently located a water leak in a 600mm ductive iron concrete lined water main installed on a NSW water project.

Aqua Environmental Leak Detection says the leak was discovered on a 1700m long new section of pipeline that was failing a final pressure test before it was commissioned. The leak was estimated to be 100L per hour.

According to Aqua Environmental Leak Detection, determined that one valve was broken and then focussed on a particular 700m long section of the main.

Aqua Environmental Leak Detection says it then deployed a large diameter leak detection ‘correlator’ to obtain a more precise location for the leak so it could be marked for excavation.

According to Aqua Environmental Leak Detection, the site was excavated and a leaking gibault was discovered exactly where the location was marked.

The company says the leak was repaired quickly.
